We work with horses of various backgrounds, including ex-racehorses, 6-month-old foals, and older horses with various training challenges to teach them to consistently follow signals and become safe companions.

Colt starting consultation is $350.

Current students with SS Ranch 77 who have taken 8 lessons in the last 12 months can purchase a horse evaluation for as low as $250.

Evaluation details:

An evaluation will include two SS Ranch 77 instructors, an hour on the property working with and around the horse, and a written evaluation afterwards. This evaluation is a standalone consultation of the horse and their training level. There are many things that frighten a horse and it is not possible to keep the horse from ever being afraid. Instead, we teach horses how to react when they are scared so everyone stays safe.

During the course of a day, horses will come upon many obstacles. From going through a gate to willingly entering the horse trailer, we teach horses to calmly move around "strange" objects.

On the trail, horses and riders will run into several unexpected things, from a wandering cow to tall bushes. We train our horses on trail rides, bringing together all the skills learned in the arena.

Once the basics are learned, it can be fun to do something new and interesting for both the horse and the rider. We think outside the box, the sky is the limit with training horses and enjoying the time spent with them.
